With the appropriate option modules installed, the ATLAS 800PLUS supports access to both public and private frame relay networks for up to four full T1s worth of network bandwidth.

The ATLAS 800PLUS includes a 10BaseT Ethernet port and IP router in support of encapsulating data into frame relay packets. Alternatively, customers can connect ATLAS with an external router through one or more serial ports. ATLAS offers a variety of serial interface options, including V.35, EIA-232, EIA-530, EIA-449, X.21, and V.36.

Voice Over Frame Relay (VoFR) is supported using one or more of the optional Voice Compression Modules to deliver high quality voice among frame relay sites. ATLAS can be configured to transport voice and data traffic within a single PVC, reducing frame relay monthly expenses. An ATLAS 800PLUS system can be optioned to transport up to 64 compressed voice connections over a frame relay network. ATLAS supports PBX and end-station call switching, automatically detecting the number dialed and routing the call to its proper destination.

ATLAS 550
Integrated Access Device designed to improve and lower the costs of Voice/Data, video, and Internet communications for both enterprise businesses and network service providers. With the ATLAS 550, many WAN functions have now been merged and combined into a small, economical, modular platform that will replace a rack of traditional single function access devices. With the ATLAS 550, traditional multiplexed and packet networks are easier to deploy and manage while providing more bandwidth efficiency out of existing or new communications links. The ATLAS 550 provides a new level of communications flexibility by offering many of the features previously found in larger central office, PBX, or router equipment.

The ATLAS 550 chassis includes a high speed multi-protocol backplane and six modular expansion slots Ü two network interface slots and four user interfaces slots. A wide range of hot swappable, industry standard modules are also available to effectively converge your telecommunications and your existing network systems such as routers, PBX, key systems, video conferencing equipment, remote access servers, LANS, faxes, and telephones. The ATLAS 550 will typically reside at a customer site and perform the functions found in multi-port multiplexers, channel banks, 1/0 cross connect switches, Frame Relay access devices/concentrators/switches, IP routers, and ISDN switches. It also includes an integral voice switchboard and dial plan for dynamically and intelligently switching voice and data calls based on the telephone number dialed.

ATLAS 550 supports multiple network technologies including T1/FT1 DSX-1, ISDN, FXS, FXO, V.35 and 10/100 Ethernet and is designed to be used for more cost effective T1, ISDN or Frame Relay networks. With the modularity of ATLAS 550, users can now support up to 10 FT1s and run traditional switched or multiplexed Voice/Data traffic, ISDN, or packetized Frame Relay. Users can also run a hybrid mix of network architectures that will make it easier to evolve network systems and applications. For example, using intelligent call routing and an optional voice compression module, users can simultaneously support toll grade voice calls and compressed voice over Frame Relay, all dynamically switched between PBXs, key systems, and the public network.

TSU 600e
Preconfigured TSU 600 and TSU 600e systems offer the functionality of ADTRAN's fully featured T1 multiplexers in pre-installed and pre-configured equipment packages. These systems utilize the TSU 600 or TSU 600e chassis packed with multiple expansion cards for high volume voice and data applications. Available packages represent the most frequently requested configurations of the TSU 600 and TSU 600e multiplexers, with expansion cards to support 12 data ports, or 24 FXO, FXS or E&M voice ports.

The TSU 600 and TSU 600e chassis have six expansion slots that accommodate various ADTRAN expansion cards to support user-specific applications, including analog voice, digital voice, DDS, Frame Relay, dial backup, high-speed data and ISDN. Both units include embedded SNMP functionality. The TSU 600e adds an integrated 10BaseT interface to the TSU 600 feature set, along with internal, dual redundant power supplies. Each hot-swappable power supply is capable of supporting a fully loaded TSU 600e.

The flexibility of the TSU 600/600e multiplexer provides a clear migration path for growing networks. Each chassis supports up to 24 DTE interfaces. The user may combine plug-in and plug-on modules in various combinations. Single-port and dual-port data modules support access to Frame Relay, DDS or Basic Rate ISDN over T1 facilities. Voice modules allow access to analog voice circuits or a PBX. The TSU 600/600e supports mixed-mode networks incorporating voice, data and video.
